ST. MARTIN DEBUTS A NEW VIDEO HIGHLIGHTING ITS CULINARY CULTURE

French St. Martin Designates 2022 as the Year of Gastronomy

St. Martin, West Indies: Feb. 2022:  Inviting foodies and those who travel with them,  St. Martin Tourist Office unveiled a new video showcasing the island’s gastronomy. The 2-minute-37-second video presents St. Martin as a culinary destination par excellence that delectably blends an island vibe with ooh-la-la French sophistication and shows off the island’s other main tourist attractions, such as its beaches,  flora, and fauna, diverse activities, and romantic sunsets.

The video creates a superb showcase for the local food and restaurant industry, especially for the winners of the 2021 “Festival de la Gastronomie” who are featured in certain segments of the video. It’s a promotional tool that highlights in particular the local products and savoir-faire of St. Martin.  To promote this gourmet island’s flavorful fusion cuisine and abundant dining experiences, the Tourist Office entrusted the video production to Théo Demanez, the exceptionally talented videographer who is also a three-time winner of the GoPro Million Dollar Challenge. An original soundtrack created especially for the project takes this completely local production to the next level. The sounds of steel drums, a cultural staple of Caribbean music, accompany viewers through the visual experience. The soundtrack juxtaposes three musical genres, inspired by zouk, reggaeton, and electro, to illustrate the unique multiculturalism found only in St. Martin. . The Tourist Office’s program also includes the launch of an advertising campaign with the same theme to position St. Martin as THE culinary capital of the Caribbean and to start setting the stage for the 2022 edition of the “Festival de la Gastronomie”.
