JAMAICA WINS BIG AT THE 2019 TRAVVY AWARDS AND HSMAI ADRIAN AWARDS IN NEW YORK CITY

NEW YORK, NY – January 25, 2019 – Jamaica captured the spotlight at the 2019 Travvy Awards receiving four gold awards: Best Tourism Board, Caribbean/Bahamas; Best Culinary Destination, Caribbean/Bahamas; Best Wedding Destination, Caribbean/Bahamas; and Best Honeymoon Destination, Caribbean/Bahamas.

Hosted by travAlliancemedia, the fifth annual Travvy Awards took place in the presence of hundreds of travel industry leaders on January 23 at Gotham Hall in New York City. This year, over 130,000 votes were cast to determine the winners in 139 categories that include destinations, hotels and resorts, cruise lines and tour operators.

In addition, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Edmund Bartlett was recognized with the inaugural Chairman”s Award for Global Tourism Innovation for the development of the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre (GTRCM). The award was collected by Delano Seiveright, Senior Advisor/Strategist, on behalf of Minister Bartlett. Jamaica’s Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre is scheduled to launch January 30, 2019 during the Caribbean Travel Marketplace, which will be held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.

At this year’s HSMAI Adrian Awards, Expedia Group Media Solutions and Jamaica Tourist Board won a Silver Adrian Award for the Find Your Vibe Campaign in the Digital Marketing/Website User Experience category. Jamaica also won the Bronze Adrian for Integrated Marketing in the PR category for Join Me in Jamaica.

The Adrian Awards are presented by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), an international organization of sales and marketing. Now it its 62nd year, the Adrian Awards recognize hospitality brands and agencies for creativity and innovation in advertising, digital marketing and public relations.
