Elegant Hotels Group Barbados, now part of the Marriott International portfolio, will reopen their four stunning Platinum West Coast properties before Christmas. Joining the already opened Waves Hotel & Spa, which began welcoming guests again in July, each property has a distinctive personality, appealing to families, sports enthusiasts, art and culture lovers, food and rum connoisseurs, and anyone who enjoys the good life with an Elegant Bajan twist. There are new hygiene protocols in place at every property following Marriot’s successful Commitment To Clean, to ensure that guests feel confident when staying with us.. The United States falls under the list of high-risk counties and requires a negative PCR test result before disembarking. Those traveling from high-risk countries with a valid COVID-19 PCR test will be required to remain (with restricted movement) at a designated area. In light of the recent change in procedures for guests arriving in Barbados from the United States, Treasure Beach will be a ‘resort bubble’ for guests wishing to relax in a resort and have use of a pool while awaiting test results. Alternatively, travelers are welcome to quarantine in their rooms at each property.
NOW OPEN: COLONY CLUB – For Food and Rum Connoisseurs
The original property in Elegant Hotels’ portfolio, Colony Club, is the embodiment of Barbados’ Platinum Coast with a relaxed atmosphere, beautifully tended gardens, and lagoon-style pools. This tranquil tropical paradise combines traditional elegance with modern luxury across 96 rooms and suites, perfect for families and couples. For more than seven decades, Colony Club has provided guests with countless opportunities to feel the true warmth of Bajan hospitality and experience the golden touches that the property is famous for. The property will be offering exciting culinary programming such as jazz and lobster evenings, and “bait-to-plate” fishing excursions which allow guests to catch and cook their dinner with a Colony Club chef. Beverage connoisseurs can enjoy Colony Club’s recent addition, the Rum Vault. The Rum Vault boasts the largest collection of rum in Barbados, consisting of an impressive 150 varieties of rums sourced from across the world. Barbados travel procedures (as of November 9, 2020):
Barbados is currently open to American travelers. American travelers must receive a negative PCR Covid-19 test, taken at least 72-hours before landing in Barbados. Upon arrival in Barbados, Americans will be required to remain within restricted movement at a designated holding hotel or approved villa at their own expense. Travelers are then required to take a second PCR test 4-5 days after their accepted negative test, and then will be able to enjoy unrestricted movement. These tests are available free of charge at a Barbados government health care facility or can be taken at the hotel by a private healthcare provider for a fee. Test results are usually returned overnight. While awaiting the second test and the results on the island, guests are required to restrict their movements to ensure the safety of all. Elegant Hotels has provided two options to ensure that guests have a pleasant stay during this period and they can either opt to quarantine in their rooms at their chosen hotel with all room service fees waived or stay at a suite at Treasure Beach where guests can use the pool and have lunch poolside (all other meals in the room) until their negative test result is returned and they can transfer to their chosen hotel.
Guest safety:
Several hygiene protocols have been put in place to ensure guests feel safe during their stay, including enhanced cleaning and disinfection, social distancing practices, appropriate PPE, temperature screening upon arrival and electrostatic spraying to enhance the already rigorous cleaning protocols. Marriott International cleanliness and hygiene protocols can be found on Commitment To Clean. For more information visit: www.eleganthotels.com
