AMERICAN AIRLINES ANNOUNCES DAILY SERVICE BETWEEN MIAMI AND ANGUILLA

New American Airlines Flights  to Anguilla  Take Off in April 

The Valley, Anguilla, Jan. 2022:  The Anguilla Tourist Board is delighted to announce that American Airlines will operate daily service from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Anguilla’s Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA) starting April 2.  “We embarked on this journey with American Airlines with the objective of securing daily, year-round service to our island,” declared the Hon. Premier of Anguilla, Dr. Ellis Webster.  “We are immensely gratified that this goal has been achieved ahead of schedule. It is a testament to the overwhelming demand for our wonderful tourism product, and to American Airlines’ confidence in the experience and capability of our outstanding team on the island, to support and promote their operation.

The Hon. Minister of Tourism and Infrastructure, Mr. Haydn Hughes added, “The agenda to bring change to Anguilla continues to be manifested as we navigate the challenges of today’s world.  We have been able to safely reopen our island for business and both investors and visitors have made Anguilla the destination of choice.  The reality of American Airlines’ inaugural flight into Anguilla was an idea that is now bearing fruit.  To that end, we announced an increase of three flights into our destination beginning in January 2022.  I am pleased that this partnership continues to flourish even in the early stage, and today we announce the commencement of daily flights to and from Anguilla/Miami in April 2022.”

The new schedule is loaded into American Airlines’ system and flights are now available for booking. The schedule as of April 2nd, 2022 is outlined below:

The Miami service to Anguilla began on December 11, 2021, with twice-weekly flights, and increased to three flights a week from January 5th to March 31st, 2022.  The decision to operate a daily service was made based on the strong load factors to the island throughout the winter months.  “The daily service will facilitate a variety of package options for Anguilla and positions our destination as one that is now easily accessible from any number of gateways, regardless of our guests’ travel dates, “declared Stacey Liburd, Director of Tourism for Anguilla. The pride of Anguillians in this milestone achievement is palpable, and Anguilla’s Parliamentary Secretary, Mrs. Quincia Gumbs-Marie stated, “One of my deepest convictions is, build it and they will come.  The increase in daily flights is a testament to the hard work of the teams on the island, our representatives in the international market, our stakeholders on island and abroad, and generally all those who have Anguilla at heart.  We will continue to position Anguilla as the gem of the Caribbean, as a great partner for business, and the destination where you can lose the crowd and find yourself.”
