Asa Wright Nature Centre
Escape to Trinidad's Rainforest

Experience a lush tropical island rain forest at Trinidad’s Asa Wright Nature Centre and Lodge, which provides a civilised setting to enjoy the beauty of this unique habitat. From the former estate house’s striking verandah you will enjoy the colourful array of tanagers, hummingbirds, and honeycreepers that come to the bird-feeders and flowers, as well as an occasional Agouti. The Asa Wright Nature Centre was one of the first nature centres to be established in the Caribbean. It is a world-class destination for students of tropical ecology and is of particular interest to birdwatchers. Several trails traverse this rich and diverse wildlife sanctuary. Also located on the sanctuary is a beautiful riparian grotto where one may view the breeding colony of the fascinating nocturnal Oilbird.
