Kickstarting the spring and summer seasons, Air Canada announced the resumption of flights in May to select destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico. Canada’s largest airline will offer 1 flight per week from Toronto’s Pearson Airport to Kingston, Jamaica, starting May 5, 1 flight weekly to Bridgetown, Barbados starting May 9 also departing from Toronto, and 3 flights weekly to Mexico City taking off on May 3. Flights to Cancun from Montreal and Vancouver are scheduled to depart in June. Tickets for upcoming flights are available for purchase on the website and via travel agents.

In January, the federal government asked Canada’s main airlines- Air Canada, Westjet, Sunwing, Air Transat- to suspend flights to popular hot spots as COVID-19 variants were being noticed.  At that time, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau noted the suspension would last until at least April 30.   For more information on Air Canada’s COVID-19 Information Hub, visit www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/book/travel-news-and-updates/2020/covid-19.html
