GOOD NEWS FROM ST.BARTH:

LeVillage Saint-Barth Hotel is up and running and now accepting reservations for vacations with regular winter rates through Christmas and New Year

(St.Barthélemy, November) The Charneau Family, owners of LeVillage Saint-Barth Hotel, report that all but two of their 25 rooms and suites escaped serious damage from the horrendous hurricanes, Irma and Maria.

As of this date, the hotel is actually fully booked through November 15.  Hard to believe?  Not really: LeVillage is currently filled with an army of technicians and specialists who rushed to the island to help restore its water and power supplies, telephone equipment and Internet towers.

Irma and Maria were scary and stressful but that just makes everyone at LeVillage and everyone on St.Barth more eager than ever to welcome back their regular guests.

LeVillage Re-Opening Date: December 1, 2017

“The island took a drubbing, no question,” says co-owner Catherine Charneau, “and the hillsides are likely to be brown rather than green for a few more months but Gustavia still looks like a picture-book Antillean harbor town, some of the beaches have already recovered the sand that washed away and many of the restaurants and stores just down the hill from the hotel are already open for business.  But since we want your vacation to be as pleasant and relaxing as possible, we personally, the staff at LeVillage, suggest that you hold off a few more weeks so we’re aiming for a full reopening date of December 1.”

By that time, the hotel’s lovely lipless pool will be refilled and sparkling like new and the gardens will have been thoroughly raked, re-raked and replanted but the two-story spa/fitness center may not be fully operational until the end of December.  Summer rates will remain in effect  through December 15: from 175 Euros for a Room and 210 Euros and up for Garden Cottage Suites.

But when you check the website — www.levillagestbarth.com – for peak holiday rates (from December 18 through January 7) you’ll have a pleasant surprise: the rates are now just the regular winter rates –- from 275 Euros for a Room and from 310 Euros for a Garden Cottage Suite.  AND, the usual 12-night minimum stay has been reduced to just 5 nights minimum — a special festive Welcome Back! gift from the staff at Le Village.

However, since restoration may be faster than expected, any guests eager to come down for a Thanksgiving in the sun (and willing to put up with a few shortcomings in appearance) should call Stephanie or Jean-Philippe at 800-651-8366 — they’ll give you an honest, up-to-date status report on the state of the hotel.

Please note also that you may spend a few extra hours getting here because of disrupted air service, possibly flying in via Guadeloupe rather than St.Maarten/St.Martin.

“Regardless of how you get to the island,” adds Catherine Charneau, “we can’t wait to see all our old friends again!  And I’m speaking for the whole island, everyone is eager to greet you!”

LeVillage Saint-Barth Hotel (formerly Le Village St.Jean Hotel) is a family-owned, family-managed, 4-star hideaway consisting of 25 rooms and suites located on St Jean Hill, above the largest and most beautiful bay on the island.  The adjoining village of St.Jean, with an array of stylish boutiques, restaurants and bars, is a lively people-watching venue for both visitors and islanders. The hotel’s airy timber-and-stone cottages and villas are set within 10 acres of a sculpture-dotted garden.  All cottage suites come with indoor/outdoor living rooms and kitchens; resort facilities include a lipless swimming pool, fitness center, breakfast room, towels and ice coolers for trips to the beach just down the hill.cibus orci luctus et ultrices posuere cubilia Curae;
