BVI”s Events and Property Re-openings

British Virgin Islands has made a remarkable recovery from Hurricanes Irma and Maria with the return of yacht charters, cruises as well as beach side bars and restaurants. All properties on Anegada (Anegada Beach Club, Four Diamonds Park Villas, Anegada Reef Hotel) and Scrub Island Resort & Spa began welcoming back locals and guests within the last month. And with an exciting lineup of events, festivals, and new hotel re-openings, this is the perfect time for visitors to return to the destination and support local businesses.
APRIL
Cooper Island Beach Club Reopening (4/1) – Eco-friendly resort Cooper Island Beach Club is making its comeback from last year’s hurricane, an opening to the public next month. In addition to reimagined accommodations, guests can enjoy the hotel’s restaurant, boutique, famous rum bar, coffee shop and microbrewery. In addition, Sail Caribbean Divers will open their brand new dive facility at the resort on April 1st! Currently, the diving operation is offering rendezvous diving, retail, rental and air fills at their Moorings Marina location and scuba & watersports rental from Hodges Creek Marina.
Tortola Torture Ultra-Marathon (4/2) – This 54K ultramarathon features 12,000 feet of elevation change, with only 7.5 miles of the course on flat land! It’s the ultimate challenge for the ultimate thrill-seeker.
Foxy’s Wooden Boat Regatta (4/21 – 4/22) – Be a part of the action with live music, drink specials and some classic wooden boat racing.
Lowell Wheatley Anegada Pursuit Race (4/28) – The Royal BVI Yacht Club hosts the 2018 Lowell Wheatley Anegada Pursuit Race at the Anegada Reef Hotel.
MAY
BVI Dinghy Championships (5/19-5/21) – The Royal BVI Yacht Club hosts the 2018 BVI Dinghy Championships Regatta at Nanny Cay Hotel and Marina.
Leverick Bay Poker Run (5/27) – In honor of its 14th anniversary, more than 300 boats from Puerto Rico, Miami and the USVI will head out to the BVI to participate in this nautical event during Memorial Day weekend.
JUNE
We Be Divin’ Village Cay Reopening (June) – While the retail store is currently open in Tortola, We Be Divin’ will be fully operational this June, offering rental and rendezvous diving with their experienced scuba diving operators.
