In the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo’s Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando Hotel Launches The Imperial Club Offering Luxury VIP Accommodations in the Heart of the Historic Zona Colonial
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic ( April, 2018) – Majestically positioned in Santo Domingo’s reemerging Zona Colonial, the iconicHodelpa Nicolas de Ovando Hotel, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site, announces the launch of its new Imperial Club. Known for its emblematic significance, the eponymous 92-room property is housed in the restored 16th century home of the city’s founder and first governor, an archetype of the city’s colonial-style décor.
Launched this month, Imperial Club is Hodelpa’s answer to the growing demand for privacy from its guests. Owners built an elevator for the sole use of the Club, accessed through one of the hotel’s gardens, which enters onto the Club’s lounge. Sun-drenched and chic, the space features a mix of contemporary design accented by classic case goods and curated art. Throughout the day, Club guests may imbibe in a tasting bar of Brugal rums and other libations and soft drinks, with an afternoon service of daily changing tapas from Dominican Chef Martin Omar, who spent over 20 years perfecting his craft in some of the best kitchens in Spain. Twelve high category rooms and suites in the Club overlook Don Diego Harbor and the National Pantheon and a fleet of butlers on are hand to accommodate guest inquiries.
“It was a natural progression to expand our service given our level of clients and today’s trends in the market,” said General Manager Alvar Ojeda. “The historic significance of this hotel is so important. It always was a glorious home in the center of the city. Hodelpa created the luxury standard it has held, and now with the launch of Imperial Club, it further validates that.”
Room categories include Club Imperial, Suite imperial, Superior Colonial and Deluxe Imperial and amenities and services featured include a welcome cocktail and cold towel upon arrival; in-room amenity of house made cider, fruit cheese plate or bottle of wine; 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen and choice of pillows; 30-minute complimentary massage; coffee, tea and hot chocolate throughout the day; continental breakfast; personalized wake up calls with coffee and weather forecast; a Bluetooth sound system; Nike Sports and Tennis apparel for sale and loan and for those with a vehicle for exploring the city, a courtesy car wash.
