Grace Bay Beach’s award-winning Wymara Resort & Villas debuted an extensive, $10 million renovation to its 91 rooms and suites, following a six-month closure that was leveraged to safely fast-track the highly anticipated project. Inspired by the natural elements of the archipelago and the aesthetic of Wymara Resort’s opulent villa portfolio, the newly redesigned accommodations up the ante on the island’s luxury resort product, introducing an upscale, modern experience driven by functionality, and one that celebrates the innate splendor of the destination. A collaboration between Casey Sonke of KC & Company and the island-based Coast Architects, the renovation pulls in many elements of Wymara Resort’s recently debuted villa portfolio and its architecturally pleasing design energized by the island. This includes a much softer color palette in the use of woods and textures, leveraging views of the ocean’s bright blue hues as a prominent accent.
The renovation was curated to each of the nine room and suite categories to keep comfort and functionality at the forefront, especially as travel trends continue to suggest the popularity of extended stays across all segments, including families. This includes thoughtful, residential-style closet configurations, and top-line furnishings and linens, including American Leather sofa sleepers and Frette bed linens for ultimate comfort. With a view towards minimizing waste, existing pieces such as dining tables were sanded and repainted by local island carpenters, and are now accented with custom-scaled Flashwood lamps by Italian lighting designer Masiero – also a focal point of Wymara’s villas. Additional furnishings include Teak Slice coffee tables by Phillips Collection, Cerno lighting, Gloster lounge chairs, and handcrafted outdoor daybeds by Dedon, from where to soak in the delicious Grace Bay Beach views.

“This renovation is a breath of fresh Caribbean air at a time when consumers need most to rediscover travel as a means to reconnect with themselves, their families, and nature,” said Jorge Collazo, General Manager of Wymara Resort & Villas. “Together with our coveted villa portfolio, the Wymara Resort experience honors not just the essence of Turks & Caicos, but also the factors that are shaping today’s travel decisions: exclusivity, the comfort and luxury of residential-style accommodations for extended stays, workations, multi-family trips, and slow travel, among others.”
With current trends also suggesting a desire to travel closer to home, Wymara Resort & Villas and the Turks & Caicos Islands offers a domestic-adjacent travel experience due to its close proximity and direct flight access from many U.S. cities, including Miami, located just an hour away. This, combined with the resort”s unwavering commitment to a guest-centered service culture, begets travelers a comfortable, safe and fulfilling travel escape. Wymara Resort’s renovations are fast appealing to customers, with a private reservation currently occupying the resort and villas through early February 2021, with the exception of festive, December 20, 2020 – January 6, 2021, during which the resort is available to book. For the period December 20, 2020 – January 6, 2021, Wymara Resort & Villas has launched a “Festive at Wymara” offer, which includes four complimentary nights for every 10 nights booked at both the resort and villas, appealing to and rewarding extended stays. Additionally, for peace of mind, the offer is fully refundable up to 7 days prior to arrival.
