ST MARTIN INVITES FOODIES TO EAT LOCAL AT THE FESTIVAL DE LA GASTRONOMIE 

Bring Your Appetite to the Food Festival in St. Martin 

St. Martin W. I., Sept. 2023:  Bring your appetite to St. Martin and eat local at the  Festival de la Gastronomie of St. Martin from Nov. 11 to 22. www.festival-st-martin.org   The Culinary Village will be open from Nov. 17 to 19, near the Tourist Office kiosk.  Cooking classes will be held at the Marina Fort Louis on  Nov. 15, in the afternoon for children, and Saturday, Nov. 18, and Sunday, Nov. 19, for adults.   Grilling champions will be taking part in the BBQ competition on  Nov.  16 and the grand finale for the chefs competing for the title of “Best Table of St. Martin 2023/2024” will take place on Nov. 21.

The line-up includes a wide range of talent from different backgrounds including Patrick Jeffroy 2 Michelin-star chef who is the festival’s official ambassador; Laurent Huguet (France),  known as “Maître Cuisinier de France”; Frédéric Cyr (Quebec) leads a team of 135 people at the  Château Frontenac; Xavier Thuret, “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” in cheesemaking; Anto Cocagne (Gabon, France),  chef renowned for her African cuisine; Xavier Isabal (France), head chef at Ithurria in Basque country; Arnaud Delvenne (Belgium) creator of Italian-inspired cuisine at his restaurant Nono in Liège  and Teheiura Teahui (French Polynesia), owner of the food truck Le Manatoa.

Bartender Mia Mastroianni, one of the founders of Soho House in West Hollywood, Miami Beach, and Toronto, and Phil Wills, owner of Spirits in Motion, a consultancy firm for bars and beverages will host the mixology competition.  American hotel industry and mixology expert, Arthur Sutley, will also be in attendance.  Kevin Bludso, an American pitmaster is coming back to St. Martin to challenge the participants of the barbecue competition.
