IT’S PARTY TIME IN ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS WITH CARNIVAL ON THE APRIL CALENDAR  

 
In U.S.Virgin Islands, Carnival is a week-long fete with food, calypso, parades, and pageants 
  
St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) March 2023: It’s party time in the U.S. Virgin Islands starting  April 8 when the St. Thomas Carnival kicks into high gear with parades and pageants highlighting local culture. This year’s theme: “Illuminating our Culture for the World to See, St. Thomas Carnival 2023,”  reflects the joy carnival presenters have in their island heritage and celebrations.   Joseph Boschulte, Commissioner,  USVI Department of Tourism, said,  “Carnival season on St. Thomas is such a wonderful time of year. It allows us to showcase our culture, music, delicious food, history, design, and creativity. Carnival begins with the Prince, Princess, and Jr. Miss. contest on Sat. April 8, followed by the Carnival Queen showcase on April 15. Other highlights include J’ouvert with an early dawn party on the waterfront with trucks, water, and libations,  Children’s and Adult Parades on Mainstreet in Charlotte Amalie with  40+ entries, Food Fair with street food, arts and crafts and live music, Panorama with 6 live steel pan groups performing musical calypso and Village Nights, 6 nights of free performances with 30+ vendors selling food and drinks in the family-friendly village.   “We’ve put together a spectacular series of events to showcase Carnival’s rich culture, tradition, and spirit,” said Ian Turnbull, Director of the Division of Festivals   .www.VisitUSVI.com
